Maynooth University

Research ScientistSept 2019 - Dec 2020

During my tenure as a Research Chemist at Maynooth University, I delved into the realm of colloidal stability of whey proteins, a government-funded project that stood at the intersection of chemistry and physics. Working in concert with PhD-level chemists and physicists, I contributed significantly to advancing our understanding in this specialised field.

My role was marked by a robust collaboration between academia and industry, focusing on the development and delivery of innovative products. This collaborative approach not only enhanced the research's applicability but also bridged the gap between theoretical research and practical, market-oriented outcomes.

A highlight of my journey at Maynooth University was presenting our research at prominent domestic and international conferences. Notably, I presented at the esteemed 'Liquid Matter' conferences in Lisbon (2012) and Ljubljana (2017). These opportunities allowed me to showcase our findings to a global audience and successfully navigate the rigorous peer-review process, underscoring the impact and relevance of our work. My experience at Maynooth University was not just about conducting research; it was about contributing to a larger scientific dialogue, pushing the boundaries of our understanding in protein chemistry, and establishing a strong link between scientific exploration and real-world applications.
